About Dylan Moser
SSG (Ret.) Dylan Moser is a North Dakota and Minnesota attorney, VA-accredited attorney, disabled veteran, and retired Army veteran practicing law in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
Dylan comes from a military family and spent much of his upbringing at Camp Grafton and Guard unit functions. He became a fourth-generation North Dakota Guardsman when he enlisted in 2016 as a Paralegal Specialist (27D), and later joined University of North Dakota ROTC.
An injury during ROTC changed the plan. After multiple surgeries, Dylan did not commission and was referred through the military disability process. He fought his own case at the board stage, continued serving, deployed, and retired from the Army in 2026 as a retired and disabled veteran.
Outside the practice of law, Dylan enjoys watching hockey, rollerblading, reading, amateur historical projects, playing the French horn, and volunteering with the Veteran Oral History Project, his parish choir, and Delta Upsilon Fraternity.
Military Legal Work
Dylan was not a JAG officer and is not certified by any JAG branch. His military legal background comes from 10 years as an enlisted Army paralegal and court reporting Noncommissioned Officer (NCO).
In those roles, he supported attorney review, investigations, military justice matters, administrative actions, and roughly four dozen administrative boards.
After supporting roughly four dozen administrative boards, Dylan has seen firsthand the difference between effective and ineffective lawyering. That experience gave him a practical sense of what helps a case, what undermines one, what decision-makers actually focus on, and what attorneys should avoid when the record, the proceeding, and the client’s career are all at stake.
Enlisted Army paralegals and court reporters perform much of the groundwork attorneys and commanders rely on: organizing records, preparing packets, drafting legal documents, supporting investigations and boards, managing proceedings, and preserving the official record for later review.
He later served as a Minnesota National Guard Court Reporter NCO and as Command Historian for the 34th Infantry Division / Task Force Spartan. Dylan deployed to Kuwait and Jordan in 2024 as part of the 34ID in support of Operation Spartan Shield.
